Kefa began with a simple question: why do the world's rarest coffees never make it to the people who would love them most?
In Ethiopia's remote highlands, we found families farming tiny plots that produce some of the most extraordinary coffees on earth — complex, layered, unlike anything else. But with harvests under 500 kilograms a year, these coffees are invisible to the global market.
Kefa bridges that gap. We work directly with these farming families, paying premium prices that support their communities and preserve their craft. Then we bring their harvests straight to your espresso machine — fresh, every week.
The name “Kefa” comes from the Kaffa region of Ethiopia — the birthplace of coffee itself. Every cup we ship carries thousands of years of tradition, from the forests where coffee first grew wild to your morning ritual.
